Dayton United Methodist Church Endowment Fund

The purpose of the DUMC Endowment Fund is to provide a means for any member and friend to make gifts and bequests to the Church to provide a permanent endowment of financial support and living memorials. Gifts to the Fund are held in perpetuity unless otherwise specified by the donor with income used to fulfill the purposes of the Church of Christian ministry and mission.

Gifts to the Endowment Fund would usually come from accumulated assets rather than from current income and, sometime called "planned giving" or "life gifts". Gifts may be made during the donors lifetime or as a bequest specified in the donor's will. Gifts to the Fund allow donor's t continue support of ministries or missions that have been dear to them during their lifetime.

Donors may specify particular ministries of missions that are to benefit from their gifts. Several accounts have been established within the Fund for specific purposes, Evangelism, Missions, Education, Youth, Building, and Music Ministry. Donor's may direct gifts to any of these accounts or to an undesignated account. Additional accounts may be established with gifts of $5,000 or more.

Endowment Committee members would welcome the opportunity to discuss this important aspect of stewardship as a part of individual and family estate planning.
